USA Flag Heading Construction

Outdoor USA flags through 6 x 10 ft. are supplied with canvas heading and two brass grommets.

USA flag sizes 8 x 12 ft' and larger are supplied with rope stitched into the canvas heading with metal thimble ends.

10 X 15 ft. and larger U.S. flags have at least one additional grommet in addition to the sewn in roped heading.

15 X 25 ft. and larger American flags feature extra-heavy 3/8 inch rope in the heading plus a minimum of three grommets.

USA Flag Fly End Construction

8 X 12 ft. and larger American flags are finished with a minimum of 6 rows of fly-end stitching.

10 X 15 ft. and larger U.S. flags have triangular corner patches on the heading.

10 X 15 ft. and larger American flags are back-tacked stitched on each fly end stripe

15 X 25 ft. and larger U.S. flags feature additional fly-end corner patches on the backside of each flag to shield the vulnerable exposed hems.

Embroidered Stars / Stitched Stars

Embroidered stars are supplied on USA flags through 12 x 18 ft.

Appliqued stars are supplied on sizes 15 x 25 ft. and over.
USA flags are available up to 30 ft. x 60 ft.

• USA Outdoor Tough-Tex: Extreme wear outdoor flags, woven polyester - 2 ply, open weave, stitched
  stripes/ embroidered stars, appliqued stars on sizes over 12'x18'.
  
• USA Outdoor Nylon Stitched: Top quality outdoor flags, Dupont Nyl-glo / SolarMax. 200 denier nylon,
  with canvas heading and brass grommets, stitched stripes/ embroidered stars, appliquéd stars on
  sizes over 12'x18'.
  
• USA Cotton Stitched Indoor: Wall hanging display or occasional outdoor use. Heavy weight cotton,
  Traditional look, stitched stripes/ embroidered stars. For larger sizes or regular outdoor use,
  please order Tough-Tex woven poly flags.
  
• United States flags, Indoor / Parade: Special display, soft nylon. 100% nylon taffeta, golden yellow fringed, flannel-lined pole sleeve, Velcro tabs
  
• Garrison Flags 20' x 38': Are flown by Army, Marine and Naval posts on special flag flying holidays in lieu of the usual post flag size. Posts may display the garrison flag for regional celebrations when directed by the post commander. This has been the approximate size of the garrison flag since at least 1834, per US Army specifications.

  Naval posts fly garrison flags with flagpoles of 55 feet or more. Marine Corps posts fly the the garrison flag only on flagpoles 65 feet or taller. In addition to the days listed above, garrison flags are displayed every Sunday.

• Burial Flag / Casket Flag 5' x 9.5': Are used to drape the casket or accompany the urn of a deceased veteran who served in the U. S. armed forces. Generally, the flag is given to the next-of-kin as a keepsake after its use during the funeral service. The proper way to display the flag depends upon whether the casket is open or closed. Embassy Flag offers both nylon and cotton casket flags. Cotton brial flags are not suitable for regular display outside. Burial flags are often triangularly folded and dislayed in a flag case.
